Musical program

The principle themes of this program are musical art of the 20th Century and its interpretation in performance, study and criticism, music in the context of contemporary culture and the problems of its' perception. A variety of forms of work are intended, including lectures, seminars, master-classes, concerts and publishing projects.

The main aims of the program are as follows: the overcoming of the deficit of knowledge and ability in the sphere of contemporary music, bringing the musical process up-to-date, the breeding of contemporary musical thought.

The program is aimed at a wide audience base. For students of music and professional musicians a series of master-classes and special courses are offered on the main problems concerning the study and performance of music of the 20th Century.

Those whose interests lie in the history of art and cultural studies as well as other humanitarian disciplines, can take advantage of a course of lectures on the subject of the interaction between music and other forms of art; music in the cultural context of our epoch.

The general audience is catered for by lectures dedicated to the primary musical directions of the 20th Century, the main musical genres and the creative works of the most prominent composers.

Concerts of 20th Century music are included in the program and act as a continuation of the lecture courses, the results of master-classes or as the subject of round-table discussions.

Lectures are given by both Russian and foreign musical authorities, composers and performers.
