Saint-Petersburg Foundation for Culture and Art The PRO ARTE Institute
The PRO ARTE Institute was created on the basis of programs of the «George Soros Center for Contemporary Art», the Saint-Petersburg branch of the «Open Society Institute» (The George Soros Foundation).
The PRO ARTE Institute's activities are linked to the study and promotion of art and culture of the 20th century.
The PRO ARTE Institute both organizes its own programs and supports projects aimed at the development of current manifestations of contemporary art and culture.
The PRO ARTE Institute consists of continuous seminars and lectures, an experimental exhibition space and an information center for research.
The PRO ARTE Institute works in close cooperation with the Saint-Petersburg State Museum of History, The State Hermitage, The Russian State Museum, The European University in Saint-Petersburg and other cultural organizations.
The PRO ARTE Institute's programs are supported by the «Open Society Institute» (The George Soros Foundation) and The Ford Foundation.
The PRO ARTE Institute's activity include:
Grant competitions for artistic and cultural organizations.
Educational programs on the history of art in the 20th century.
New Technologies in Contemporary Art Program.
